Martin is a dynamic senior executive with a track record of delivering exceptional results in the most testing of circumstances and environments. His career in Retail Banking spans many years, countries and disciplines from distribution, sales and marketing to operations, call centres and transformation.

Presently he leads the strategy, planning, performance, analytics, change and transformation agendas within retail banking for Commercial Bank in Qatar. This role encompasses all business units and channels including Private Banking, Wealth, Direct Sales, SME Business Banking, Branch and ATM Networks,

Prior to working in the Middle East, he was the Sales and Marketing Director for OneSavings Bank, the banking vehicle funded by the American private equity firm JC Flowers. Here he rebuilt the previously troubled brand and re-engineered new mortgage distribution capability.

Martin also held the position of Distribution Director whilst at Nationwide Building Society in the UK, where he was recruited to lead the consolidation of three distressed organisations that were acquired by Nationwide during the financial collapse in 2008.

He started his career in Barclays and worked both in the UK and Africa before becoming the National General Manager for the branch network of Absa, South Africa’s largest bank with over 15,000 staff in more than 700 branches.

He loves to play tennis, golf, ski and travel.
